Introduction

At JSJ Diesel Sales, Inc. (“JSJ Diesel”), we stand behind the quality of our engines. This Warranty (“Warranty”) applies to all products purchased through our website (jsjdiesel.com) or our official eBay store (“Product Store”). By purchasing from JSJ Diesel, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the terms outlined below.

Scope of Warranty (Block, Crank & Head Only)

JSJ Diesel warrants to the original purchaser that each engine sold will function properly when used in a normal manner, installed correctly, and maintained according to manufacturer specifications. Each engine is guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship when properly installed and used.

Warranty Period: Two (2) months from the date you receive the engine. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

The warranty covers the engine unit itself and does not include labor costs related to removal or installation. Engines must be installed within 30 days of delivery by either the purchaser or an ASE-certified mechanic, and proof of installation is required for any claim.

The customer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with warranty claims. We recommend insuring all shipments and retaining proof of delivery. JSJ Diesel reserves the right to deny any warranty claims that do not meet these conditions.

Exceptions to Warranty

The following are not covered under this Warranty:

Accessories or attached components such as manifolds, turbos, alternators, starters, water pumps, clutches, flywheels, timing belts, sensors, or electrical components.
Engines abused, improperly broken in, oil-starved, overheated, or used in non-original applications.
Any unit exhibiting damage from pre-ignition, detonation, or over-revving.
Failures due to accidents, neglect, improper installation, modification, or external conditions (e.g., overheating, humidity, acts of God).
Third-party labor or parts. JSJ Diesel is not responsible for damages caused by outside service providers.

This Warranty does not apply to performance, surplus, racing, or marine engines, or to any engine where the ECM has been reset, flashed, deleted, or modified beyond its original horsepower rating.

Damage During Transit

Shipping damage is not covered under this Warranty. If an engine arrives damaged, mark the Bill of Lading as “Received Damaged” and contact us immediately. JSJ Diesel will file a freight insurance claim and manage the process. Once the claim is settled and payment received, we will provide a replacement engine.

If you prefer not to wait for the claim to settle, you may place a deposit equal to the engine’s value for immediate replacement. Your deposit will be refunded upon receipt of payment from the insurer. Alternatively, you may repair the unit yourself and submit the invoice for possible reimbursement after claim approval.

Insurance processing typically takes 90 days or more. JSJ Diesel cannot control or guarantee claim timelines. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and bear all risk during transport unless shipping is arranged directly through JSJ Diesel.

Used Engine Warranty Requirements

Used engines are sold as long blocks only. If a defect occurs (not caused by shipping), JSJ Diesel will replace the unit under the Warranty Period. No refunds are issued on used engines.

Installation & Maintenance Requirements:

Replace timing belt (belt-driven engines) and confirm correct timing.
Replace oil at 500 miles and every 3,000 miles thereafter at a licensed shop.
Perform regular tune-ups and replace spark plugs, injectors, and filters as needed.
Replace thermostat, water pump, and inspect radiator and fuel lines.
Clean or replace the oil pump pick-up screen and prime the lubrication system before start-up.
Rotate the crankshaft manually at least three full turns prior to installation.
Replace the rear main seal and inspect or replace gaskets and seals as needed.

Proof of compliance with these steps, including receipts, must be provided for warranty eligibility.

Rebuilt Engine Warranty Terms

Rebuilt engines are covered for defects in materials or workmanship during the applicable period below. JSJ Diesel will repair or replace, at our discretion, any covered rebuilt engine. No refunds will be issued.

Standard Rebuilt Engines: 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
Master Rebuilt Engines: 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Rebuilt engines must be properly installed and maintained. This warranty is not an unconditional guarantee against all failures or hazards.

Warranty Disclaimer

Except as stated herein, all products are sold “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” JSJ Diesel disclaims all other express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We make no guarantees regarding the reliability, quality, or availability of products purchased from third-party providers. Your use of our website and products is entirely at your own risk.

Limitations of Liability

JSJ Diesel, its employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages (including loss of profits, data, or revenue). Our total liability shall never exceed the amount you paid for the product in question.

Miscellaneous Provisions

Payment Issues

Initiating a credit card chargeback voids this Warranty immediately.

Governing Law & Venue

This Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Exclusive venue for disputes shall be in Broward County, Florida. All parties consent to jurisdiction and waive objections based on venue or convenience.

Enforcement Costs

The prevailing party in any dispute arising from this Warranty shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, and related expenses, including appellate and post-judgment costs.
