Policies, required steps, and potential extra charges—please read before delivery.

Critical Shipping Notices

Once an engine has been picked up by the carrier, JSJ Diesel Sales has no control over the carrier’s schedule, handling, or transit time. A tracking number is provided within 12–24 hours after pickup.

  • Carriers have recently been missing scheduled pickups. If a pickup is missed, we’ll re-book the shipment for the next available date at no additional cost.
  • Please ensure someone is available to receive the shipment at the first attempt to avoid re-delivery and storage fees.

Shipping Damage Procedure

If your engine arrives with any damage, follow these steps immediately at delivery:

  1. Accept the engine but clearly write “RECEIVED AS DAMAGED” on the Bill of Lading (BOL).
  2. Email photos of the damage and a copy of the BOL to JSJ Diesel Sales.
  3. Provide a written repair estimate and a brief damage report.
  4. Every engine ships insured. JSJ Diesel will file the insurance claim on your behalf.
  5. At our discretion, we may supply replacement parts to get you operational while the claim processes. Insurance settlements can take up to six (6) months. When possible, reuse parts from your previous engine to reduce downtime.

Additional or Extra Shipping Charges

A. Re-Delivery Fees

If delivery is refused for any reason, carriers impose a minimum $510.00 re-delivery charge. JSJ Diesel will invoice this separately. Please make your mechanic/receiver aware so the shipment is accepted on the first attempt.

B. Storage Fees

Carriers may add storage at approximately $200.00 per day, typically in addition to any re-delivery fee. These charges are the customer’s responsibility and will be invoiced once the carrier notifies JSJ Diesel.

C. Residential / Limited-Access Deliveries

Residential or limited-access deliveries may incur $250.00–$500.00 in additional charges, depending on location and carrier policy. If your location is residential, notify us in advance— pre-arranged residential rates are usually lower than post-facto surcharges.
